My Help Comes From God

In times of difficulties, where do you go first? Do you go to your friends? How about your family members? Or do you go to your family doctor,  if its a sickness? Or do we go to God? Who we go to first, usually defines, who we are closest to. The Psalmist in Psalm 121:1-3 cries out passionately “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

In times of troubles we should make God our primary source of help. God knows all that we are going through. Isaiah 41:10 declares “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God wants to help you, God wants to uphold you, it doesn’t matter where you find yourself today, God sees your pain and your struggle. The Psalmist declares in Psalm 40:2 “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” God is in the business of stepping into the miry clay or mud, so that He can help you and sustain you. God will meet you where you are, once you are willing to open up your heart and allow Him to come.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”  This a reminder, that God is right there, waiting at your door, your heart door, my heart door, to come in and sit, and fellowship with you and I. God wants us to listen to His voice, His direction, His calling. A lot of voices are in the world today, but there is a still small voice that is calling you today. That voice is saying:

1 John 1:9 ” If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”

Jeremiah 29:11 ” For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

Isaiah 40:29-31 ” He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

Wherever you find yourself today, God loves you with an everlasting love. Lets pray together “Father we come to you in the name of Jesus, the name that is above every other name.  Wash my God from every sin, and purify my heart once again. Where anger and every type of sin exist, burn it out with the power of your love, and replace it with a passion for your presence. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Father, bless my friends, my families, my co-workers, my classmates, my neighbours, even those that fight against me. Father my help comes from you and no one else, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
